Biographical Summary of Contractor

Jeffrey Hutchings is Canada Research Chair in Marine Conservation and Biodiversity, and Associate Professor of Biology, at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Among his 70 publications in the primary peer-reviewed scientific literature, more than 20 focus on the collapse and recovery of Atlantic cod in the Northwest Atlantic.  Dr. Hutchings is Editor of the Canadian Journal of Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences, a member of the COSEWIC’s Marine Fishes Specialist Subcommittee, one of three non-government members of COSEWIC, and a member of the Royal Society of Canada's Expert Panel (2000-01) on the Future of Food Biotechnology.
