Biographical Summary of Report Writer

Dorothy Hill has a B.Sc. in zoology from the University of British Columbia, a M.Sc. in zoology from the University of Manitoba, and a PhD in ecology from the University of Calgary. Her doctoral research was on Chestnut-collared Longspurs and she studied interactions between cowbirds and Clay-colored Sparrows for her master's research. Currently she is an instructor at the University of Calgary and Mount Royal College and teaches courses in ecology and evolution, introductory biology, vertebrate zoology, and avian biology. She is also a science writer for the Kananskis Field Stations.
