David Gummer est conservateur de mammalogie au Royal Alberta Museum. Il a obtenu un doctorat de la University of Saskatchewan en 2005 et une maîtrise ès sciences de la University of Calgary en 1997. Ses principaux champs d’intérêt et ses principales compétences de recherche sont l’écologie et la biologie de la conservation des mammifères des Prairies, les activités saisonnières et l’hibernation des petits mammifères, ainsi que la biogéographie. M. Gummer a rédigé le rapport original du COSEPAC sur le rat kangourou d’Ord en 1994-1995 et réalise depuis des recherches sur la population et son habitat. Il est membre de l’équipe de rétablissement du rat kangourou d’Ord de l’Alberta.

Darren Bender est professeur adjoint à la University of Calgary. Il enseigne au Graduate Program of Geographic Information Science (MGIS) au département de géographie, et il détient un poste de professeur associé au département des sciences biologiques. M. Bender a obtenu un doctorat en biologie à la Carleton University en 2000, et le Department of Fishery & Wildlife Biology de la Colorado State University lui a décerné une bourse de perfectionnement postdoctoral avant sa nomination à la University of Calgary en 2001. Ses spécialités de recherche sont l’écologie du paysage, la biologie de la population et les systèmes d’information géographique. Ses recherches récentes se concentrent sur les effets de l’évolution du paysage sur les populations de petits mammifères, dont les rats kangourous d’Ord. M. Bender a commencé ses travaux sur les rats kangourous en 1995, et il fait partie de l’équipe de rétablissement du rat kangourou d’Ord de l’Alberta.
