Recovery Strategy for the Piping Plover (Charadrius melodus melodus) in Canada

The Minister of the Environment and the Minister responsible for the Parks Canada Agency are the competent ministers for the recovery of the Piping Plover, melodus subspecies and has prepared this strategy, as per section 37 of SARA. It has been prepared in cooperation with Parks Canada Agency, the Provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Québec, also Aboriginal groups and the Eastern Canadian Piping Plover Recovery Team, as per section 39(1) of SARA.
