Taxonomic issues and the status of chorus frogs: clarification statement

 In response to a request from Environment Canada, COSEWIC considered the taxonomic issues relevant to the status of chorus frogs in Canada.  Notwithstanding changes to taxonomic assignments, COSEWIC reaffirms that the chorus frog (Great Lakes/St. Lawrence – Canadian Shield population) assessed by COSEWIC in 2008 and currently listed as Threatened on Schedule 1 of SARA is a valid wildlife species.
