Order Amending Schedule 1 to the Species at Risk Act (volume 145, number 23, 2011)

This Order, on the recommendation of the Minister of the Environment, adds the Polar Bear species to Schedule 1 of SARA as a species of special concern. Under SARA, the listing of a species as special concern in Schedule 1 requires the preparation of a management plan to prevent listed species from becoming endangered or threatened.
